Addison

Addison

Addison spent at least two years of her life alone and without adequate care. She was living on a property a few miles from the sanctuary, and although we were aware of the neglect she was facing, we were unable to secure her surrender for quite some time.

However, one day we received a call from concerned neighbors, who said they hadn’t seen any humans on the property in a while. When we arrived, we found that Addison was still there, underweight and tethered to a tree, without protection from predators or the elements. The neighbors had been bringing her water each day to keep her alive.

We called the sheriff’s department to request a welfare check on Addison. After the deputy assessed the situation, we were granted the go-ahead to take Addison into our care. We were incredibly relieved, and so was Addison!

Despite her neglectful past, Addison was nothing short of social, loving, and incredibly sweet upon arriving at IFS. She always preferred human friends to goat friends and loved a good treat (or a few)! While her time in sanctuary was much too short, Addison was surrounded by love and companionship, she received regular vet care, and she always had plenty of food in her belly.
