Volunteer Opportunities
Routine Chores
If you’re looking to get out on the farm and volunteer among the residents, this opportunity is for you! Routine chores start at 10:00am every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, finishing up once chores are done around 1:00pm. Volunteers for routine chores will need to attend an orientation and ideally volunteer at least twice a month on the days that are most convenient for them. Typical volunteer activities include:
Mucking barns
Laying out fresh bedding
Cleaning and filling water dishes
General sanctuary clean up
Animal care related tasks
Garden Committee
For the green thumbs out there, we have a garden committee that helps organically and sustainably grow produce to feed the animals, maintains pollinator-friendly plantings, and manages other landscaping projects. Typical garden committee activities currently include:
Planning the year’s garden and projects
Spring clean-up and plant bed prep
Planting seeds, dividing and transplanting perennials
Maintaining signage
Harvesting crops
Weeding, mulching, and watering
Closing the gardens
Fundraising Committee
For those interested in behind the scenes work, our fundraising committee has a variety of opportunities. The fundraising committee meets as needed to discuss projects with most work being done remotely. Fundraising committee tasks may include:
Assist with donor management projects
Seek sponsorships and donations
Assist with advertising campaigns
Plan and execute events
