In April 2024, a farmer reached out to us with a desperate plea to help his calf. She had been born healthy, but one day, she was suddenly unable to stand or walk. He brought her to a hospital, where they treated her for sepsis, but unfortunately this did not cure her. That is when he reached out to us, and we promised him that we would bring Chance to Purdue and do all we could to help her.

Chance made great progress at Purdue. She received selenium, vitamin E, and lots of love and care, and in a short time, she began to stand on her own and take a few wobbly steps. We were able to bring her home in early May, and we have hopes that she will make a full recovery. She is a sweet, social little girl, and loves to follow humans around, even if it means stumbling a few times.
