Join VegLife Des Moines at XBk Live for Peace Not Pork, the compassionate alternative to BaconFest with a goal of raising funds to benefit Iowa Farm Sanctuary. While others in Des Moines will be celebrating the death of thousands of pigs, we'll be honoring their lives at this compassionate alternative, Peace Not Pork.

A $15 ticket (kids 13 and under free) gets you four small sandwiches from local vegan chefs, desserts and entertainment. We are hosting a vegan cook off featuring chef Lyssa Wade with Veggie Thumper, Kerrie Rush with Fresh Wheatgrass Girl, Christopher Place with Dirt Burger and Hailey Dixon with Brightside Kitchen. You'll try amazing vegan alternatives to pork based sandwiches and choose your favorite. Sandwiches will be anonymous! A winner will be crowned at the end of the event!

Representatives from Iowa Farm Sanctuary will be on hand to share stories about the pigs at the Sanctuary, but also the realities for the other 20 million + pigs living in Iowa and how we can all get active and change the world for farmed animals.
