Willy was rescued from the Cricket Hollow Zoo in Manchester, Iowa. He and more than 400 other animals were removed from the zoo because of “deplorable” conditions—and that’s putting it lightly. We witnessed some of the most horrific suffering we’ve ever come across at this zoo. We’re so thankful we were able to rescue Willy, along with Pearson the turkey and Cedric, Casper, and Claire the ducks from this nightmare situation.

Willy survived unfathomably horrific circumstances, and he is our hero for how he has overcome and adapted. He’s still quite timid around humans, which we 100% understand, but he’s become great friends with some of our other residents. He really is the sweetest guy, and we can’t wait to really get to know him as he comes out of his shell.
